On 2012/01/25, I sent an e-mail to my
friend in which I write that the cat measures radiation and display
the result as dead or alive. That is to say, I think that the essence of Schrödinger cat is a measurement of a measurement. A Geiger counter and a poison gas generator and the cat constitute a measuring apparatus. The cat is thought of as a display unit of the apparatus.
